Grrl Rave is a multi-media party and haven for grrls, gays, and theys. We aim to showcase and celebrate all the Hottest Bitches in Boise, especially voices that are often underrepresented in creative scenes. The parties we throw should be safe, inclusive, and iconic.
Our plan is for people to share their talents and go home with new friends and cool clothes. We care about strengthening local LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities and making a tangible impact on the spaces and people who support us. U might even fall in love…..

At Grrl Rave, its our priority to make sure the girls, gays, and theys have a fun, safe, and welcoming space in Boise. In addition, we want to give back and bring attention to the causes many of us care about. See more about each event’s donation below.
Grrl Rave 07.06.24
Benefit for Idaho Abortion Rights: 100% of profits, over $1,000 raised. This donation contributed to IAR’s efforts including: providing emergency contraceptives, condoms, pregnancy tests, access to abortion pills, covering cost of abortion medication for Idahoans, and providing abortion doula services.

10% of all profits (over $900) invested into trans and gender affirming materials including binders, trans tape, makeup, and more. More information coming soon.
Ghoul Rave 11.01.24
10% of all profits donated to Operation Olive Branch: a volunteer-powered grassroots collective effort to connect with and amplify Palestinian voices in an effort to support their critical needs. They provide direct service to the families on the ground by delivering aid, facilitating access to medical support, language translation, and sourcing supplies. In addition, they are working to launch a pilot Family Encampment which will accommodate approx 300 individuals (30 families) in Phase 1. The camp will provide shelter, food, water, medical services, WiFi, electricity and other necessities. More information about OOB here.

Danielle Mitten

Co-creator, Operations & Creative Director, Design
Danielle Mitten (she/they) is a Multimedia illustrator and event director from Boise, Id, known for their sweet illustrations and community-focused vision. Their work has been featured at places like Freak Alley Gallery, Treefort Music Fest, and HGTV. You can often catch her slinging her wares at various art and vintage markets or shredding on her dance pole.
For Grrl Rave, Dani curates, books, organizes, designs, prints, decorates, hosts, and LOVES, and she gets to do it all with the hottest team in Boise. :,)

Abbie Alling

Abbie is a multidisciplinary creative based out of Boise, Idaho, currently working as the marketing assistant for the Egyptian Theatre, Co-Founder of Grrl Rave, and as a freelance small-scale fashion designer. Abbie and Danielle met through vending at No New Vintage Market, where they immediately hit it off and recognized the dire need for more grrrl-oriented events in Boise.
From her experience as University Pulse Radio’s promotions manager for the past two years, she was motivated to continue pursuing a career around music and community. Abbie began grrl rave primarily out of her love for grrl & queer DJs, and acknowledging the lack of a platform girl talent has in Idaho. However, Grrl Rave has become so much more than ever imagined, now harboring a fun and safe space for girls, gays and theys to make new friends, support small businesses, give to the causes we care about, and discover new music. Abbie has been lucky to channel her number of hobbies into merch design, lineup curation, community organization, graphic design, and photography, while getting to do it all with the best team. <3

Rachel Kaufman

Rachel Kaufman (She/they) is a multidisciplinary artist and graphic designer living in Philadelphia. They are currently a teaching artist for kids in kindergarten through 8th grade. Recently they have been learning ceramics, tattooing, and rollerskating. They got to help bring the first iteration of Grrl Rave to life and have since been contributing from afar through design. They are inspired by the collective joy experienced through being a part of Grrl Rave.

Ky Gathura (they/she) is known as a jack of all trades. and has expressed their love for creativity and authenticity through various outlets such as art direction, graphic design, event planning, team management, and activism.
Ky has MCed, focused on community outreach, and filled any gaps needed throughout her time on the team. For those who know Ky, they are always involved in an abnormal amount of things, but Grrl Rave is something that Ky has expressed time and time again that she wouldn’t trade for the world.

Lupe Villanueva She/They is a tinkerer of things and a lover. They enjoy photography, metalsmithing and jumping down rabbit holes to learn new things. They spend their time capturing the world around them behind a lens and sharing stories with passers-byers, the river is usually where they can be found, reading, running or just existing and trying to enjoy the little things in life. They respect the slow process of their craft and other crafts and always fill their jewelry with love and acknowledgment to their roots and materials. They love cats and dogs to the point that they will not stop talking about them, and will verbalize their love and care for those around them. They got involved with Grrl rave after Rachel asked them to do film, during this low point in time they did it with little excitement but as grrl rave continued they refound the reason why they enjoy photos and it reminded them of the beauty of having a safe space to exist and share joy.

Vendor Operations
Elle Stephenson a.k.a Elle Valentine is a multimedia artist, and a romantic at heart. Elle’s main artistic mediums are ceramics, video art, installation, and film photography. She has a passion for fashion and has been devoted to finding unique pieces since she was a little girl running down the street in her mom’s dresses and heels. This passion has made being the vendor operations for Grrl Rave such a gratifying experience. You can usually find her at the Grrl Rave vendor booths selling clothing and handmade ceramic jewelry. She also has a lifetime love for music, shown within her radio show and ever-growing collection of physical media. Being invited to work on the Grrl Rave team by my friends who created it has changed my life, the way that I see myself, and my view of my place in the world.
